Salem State Police Lt. makes it easier to protect children from identity theft

VINTON, VA -

A Salem state police lieutenant has made it a little easier to protect your child from identity theft.

Robert Chappell wrote the book Child Identity Theft.

Several dozen people showed up as he spent some time signing his book Saturday in Vinton.

Many people brought their children to get finger-printed and others had their faces painted.

Chappell says the book is a guide to protecting your child's identity.

"it's a book that will help parents figure out the simple steps, the easy steps in a question and answer easy reader format to learn how to protect their children" said Chappell.

The official book signing will be next weekend at Barnes and Noble at Tanglewood Mall.
