Google coming to Roanoke to help small businesses

If you're looking to make a little extra money or expand your business ... Google is coming to town to show you how!

Experts with the internet search engine will be in Roanoke Tuesday for the "Virginia get your business online" program. There are two seminars planned at the Taubman museum of art - one at 9:00 a.m. and another at 12:30 p.m.

The program will help show local small business owners how to take their company to the next level, create their own website and show them how to reach more customers online.

Congressman Bob Goodlatte supports the essence of the program, saying "over the next three years businesses that utilize the web expect to grow 40-percent faster than those that don't. ... [and] getting small businesses online is key in ensuring competitiveness in today's growing online marketplace."

Anyone can participate in the event - but you do need to register for the seminar. Head to www.VirginiaGetOnline.com to sign up.
