An empty driveway is something Jim Potter hasn't seen in a long time.
But thanks to plenty of hard work and Goodwill it's something he now enjoys.
Potter knew he wouldn't get much for his 1990 Oldsmobile so he decided to donate it and get the $500 tax write off.
He lost the title to the car years ago and went through plenty of trouble trying to get it back.
It took three months of countless calls and e-mails to the DMV, the State Corporation Commission, and multiple banks in order to get the title.
A copy of it was finally sent to Potter's home last week.
"When you're dealing with red tape, bureaucracy and things of that nature who knows where it could all lead to," he said. "I was just relieved the lien was released."
He was even more relieved once Goodwill finally came and picked up the car.
"I was ready to push it out and help them," Potter said half-jokingly.
His advice for anyone else facing a similar situation is simple.
"Be persistent," Potter said. "Don't give up."
