A making a difference follow up to Galax Elementary School's effort to win a contest for a much needed grant.
The school's Cooperative Center for Exceptional Children program won the $10,000 grand prize.
It received the most votes in an international contest called "UCT Gives Back."
We talked to the school's assistant principal Monday afternoon.
She says everyone has been walking on "cloud nine" all day.
The program's teacher plans to buy a Smart Board with the prize money.
Currently, that teacher is given about $300 to buy supplies for the entire year, so, the $10,000 will go a long way and help grow the program.
