Cave Spring Advances Over Tazewell

   Cave Spring opened Region IV Division 3 play with a dominating 78-57 win over visiting Tazewell. The Knights, coming off a 52-50 River Ridge final loss to Division 4 Salem, went to the bench early and often and reserves got lots of minutes. Jaret Lipps lead the Knights with 20 points off the bench. Coach Billy Hicks gang will now take on Abingdon, a team they nipped last year in Region play...in the next round on Wednesday night.

   Other scores in Monday Night:  Region IV Div 4: Blacksburg over Bassett 55-44, Magna Vista defeats Hidden Valley 69-61, Region III Div 3: For Defiance 66 Liberty 53, Rockbridge Co. 61 Rustburg 61 OT, Marion over Tunstall 64-58.   Girls action: Staunton River 50 Jefferson Forest 48.
