BEDFORD COUNTY -

Update:  

Delivery truck driver Leo George Jr. has been released from Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

3:55 p.m.

In a statement from former WSLS meteorologist Jamey Singleton's current employer, WSET news director Bill Foy writes:

"WSET would like to thank our viewers for the thoughts and concerns expressed for Jamey Singleton.  Jamey's family reports to us that, while his condition remains serious, he is alert and communicating.  They are also grateful for the caring prayers expressed by those who count Jamey as a friend."

 Moneta Road also known as Route 122 in Bedford County has reopened.

11:46 p.m.

We checked with Roanoke Memorial Hospital. There is no information on Singleton's condition at this time.

11:44 a.m.

Moneta Road in Bedford County is closed after a head-on crash.

It happened around 9:49 this morning when a car traveling northbound crossed the center lane and collided head-on with a box truck.

The accident closed Moneta Road at the intersection with Stony Fork Road in both directions (click here for a map).

According to Virginia State Police Sergeant Bob Carpentieri the road is expected to reopen around noon today.

Three people were injured in the accident.

The driver of the car, 34-year-old Jamey Singleton was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the truck 56-year-old Leo George Jr. and his passenger 33-year-old Josh Ross were also taken to Roanoke Memorial.

There is no word on their injuries.

State Police say charges are pending against Singleton.
