Former N.C. State men's basketball coach Sidney Lowe returns to the bench for the Utah Jazz tonight after facing charges of tax evasion in North Carolina.
Lowe was arrested Wednesday on charges of willful tax evasion for 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was the head coach at N.C. State in those three seasons. State fired him after the 2011 season and he became an assistant coach for the Jazz.
Lowe was making approximately $900,000 a year at N.C. State.
Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin called the issue "a personal matter." The Jazz general manager, Dennis Lindsey declined to comment.
Lowe is expected back on the Utah bench tonight, when the Jazz plays the Golden State Warriors.
