Roanoke's Grandin Village continues business growth

ROANOKE -

A handful of businesses closed in Roanoke's Grandin Village over the past few years, but it has not taken long for those empty spaces to fill up with new businesses.

Susan Stump, president of the Grandin Village Business Association, said it is a turn-a-round these businesses depend on to keep the area viable.

"It's important that we have new business, because we feed off of each other and we refer our customers to each other," said Stump. "We need to have storefronts open so we can attract more people to come shop in the village."

The latest project happening in the village is a new restaurant, which is expected to open in the former Surf and Turf location.
