UPDATE:

     Just before 8 a.m. responders were called to a house fire in the 2500 block of Isle of Pines Drive in Moneta.  A volunteer who lived in the same neighborhood arrived on scene shortly after being dispatched to find the home fully involved with flames and smoke coming out of the roof.

     Firefighters from Moneta, Saunders, Bedford, Huddleston and Stewartsville were able to get the fire under control.  However, the home is a total loss.  The Red Cross has been notified to help the displaced people.

     The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    Route 655 was closed for over an hour early this morning following a house fire on Isle of Pines Drive in Moneta.  Fire crews say the homeowner escaped the fire through a rear door that opened to a newly added deck.
