The Amherst County Sheriff's Office says it made two arrests in connection with a string of car break-ins from last week.
Tips to the sheriff's office led investigators to The Best Value Inn motel in Madison Heights. Deputies say they found multiple stolen items in one of the rooms, and arrested:
Sergio Mercado, 22, of New York City - Charged with a drug violation
Christopher Andrew Fralix, 24, of Kingsport, Tennessee - Charged with a drug violation, credit card larceny
Both men are being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, an additional charges may be filed.
