      The Region III Division 4 Semifinals were both hotly contested games--with Heritage outlasting host Staunton River 53-49 with a late 4th quarter charge and some clutch free throw shooting. Meanwhile Lord Botetourt avenged a 37 point early season loss to Broadway with a clutch 47-41 win. They will now meet Heritage...a team that defeated them by 48 points over the holidays.

     The Region IV Division 4 semifinals saw Salem handle River Ridge rival Hidden Valley 42-29, while Carroll Co edged Magna Vista 59-46 to advance and play Bassett. The winner of that game will get Salem for the Region title.

     Elsewhere, in Boys action--the Salem advances over rival Blacksburg 62-45, while Carroll Co. edges Magna Vista 59-57. Fort Defiance eliminated Northside 73-57 and Spotswood ended Rockbridge Co's run 87-61. Andrew Rowsey finishes up the VHSL' s second all-time leading scorer. Meanwhile Abingdon eliminated Cave Spring and Martinsville got by Marion. In Group action, the winners were Radford, Glenvar, Grayson Co and Graham in Boys Region C Div 2 action.  Covington and Auburn were victorious in Region C Division I boys action.
