A new TV commercial is catching on here in the Roanoke Valley getting thousands of hits online. Now you can own a piece of it.
Carl and Roy are neighborhood defenders and ride a mini Baha sports bike in the Member One Federal Credit Union ads.
They are raffling the bike off, hoping to raise $50,000 dollars for Habitat for Humanity, enough money to build one house.
"We've had an overwhelming interest in the Carl and Roy story, specifically the dirt bike. A lot of people asking questions, seeing it. Member One is dedicated to giving back to our community both through volunteerism and monetary contributions so we wanted to work with a local organization to give back and we felt a fun and exciting way to do it would be to raffle off Rolling Thunder" said Daniel Bliley, the Member One Federal Credit Union VP of Marketing.
"We're excited. We've never had anything quite so interesting as a dirt bike like Rollling Thunder and we think the community is really going to get behind us and going to have as much fun as we have" said Betsy Whitney, Habitat for Humanity deputy director.
Raffle tickets go on sale next month for $1.00. Additional prizes include gift cards, gas cards and an iPad.
All this week, WSLS 10 is taking you inside several unique destinations right here in our backyard. This time, we're going off the beaten path to a 500 acre outdoor playground in New Castle.
