A Christiansburg babysitter has pleaded no contest in the death of a 10-month old baby boy.
Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney Mary Pettitt says the felony charge against Brandy Lytton Acord, 31, will be amended to a misdemeanor in a year if she follows an agreement.
Acord began caring for the child, C.J. Gordon, about a month before his death.
Court records show that on the day of the incident, Acord says she laid C.J. down for a nap and wrapped him in a blanket. She then attended to her three children, until an hour later when she told investigators the infant was partially under the bed and had turned purple.
The cause of death was listed by the medical examiner as "sudden unexpected infant death."
We are told several of the child's family members were in court on Thursday.
