PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA -

An Axton man is killed during a single vehicle crash Saturday night.

The 39-year-old driver, Tonche Hodge, was traveling on Route 58, east of Route 855 in Pittsylvania County, when the accident happened.

The preliminary investigation shows that 1999 Volvo sedan was heading eastbound when the driver ran off the right side of the roadway and hit an embankment. The car went into the air and struck a tree.

Hodge was not wearing a seat belt and it's unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash. Hodge was pronounced dead at the scene.
