Former circuit court judge's daughter tragically murdered in Bal - WSLS 10 NBC in Roanoke/Lynchburg Va

A Roanoke couple well known in the area legal community suffered a tragedy over the weekend after their daughter was found murdered.
The Baltimore Police Department confirmed 33-year-old Alysia "Nicole" Strickland was found shot to death in a car in west Baltimore.
Police said the car had also been set on fire.
A police spokesman said they didn't know the relationship between Nicole Strickland and a 34-year-old Baltimore man found dead beside her.
Nicole Strickland's father, Arthur, is a well known Roanoke attorney.
Her mother, Diane, is a retired circuit court judge in Roanoke.
Judge Strickland founded the highly successful Drug Court in Roanoke.
She was the first female to sit on the circuit court bench in the Roanoke valley.
Judge Strickland was also a member of the Virginia Tech Review Panel, which studied the April 16th tragedy.
The family released the following statement this afternoon:
"It is with deep regret and sadness that we confirm that our beautiful daughter, Alysia Nicole Strickland, was murdered in Baltimore this past weekend. No further details are available at this time. We greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Please allow us time to privately process our grief as a family." -Art and Diane Strickland.
