DA says no decision yet on charges in UNC academic scandal - WSLS 10 NBC in Roanoke/Lynchburg Va

The district attorney for Orange County said Monday that no decisions have been made on whether criminal charges will be filed in the University of North Carolina academic scandal.
Jim Woodall told WNCN that a decision should be made within a couple of weeks. He said they were still looking at the information.
He said he met with State Bureau of Investigation agents Monday.
The long-running scandal led to the firing of football coach Butch Davis, the eventual resignation of chancellor Holden Thorp, and revealed problems in the African and Afro-American Studies department, as athletes took classes with little oversight.
Professor Julius Nyang'oro was forced into early retirement. But no one has been charged with any crimes.
