Hall of Fame coach Alan Cantrell has stalked the sidelines for Floyd Co High School for three decades. A boys title and three girls titles later--he and his Lady Buffs are once again in position to add to the school's trophy case. The Floyd County girls are 25-2 and have been ranked number one in Group A girls basketball for much of the season. They have backed up the ranking with a Three-Rivers District crown as well as the Region C Division 2 title. Next up--the state tournament, which opens with a quarterfinal match up on Friday night against Gate City in Salem. Coach Cantrell has girls titles in 93, 94 and 2008.
