Roanoke to host WWE Raw in May

ROANOKE, VA -

If The Rock were giving the announcement, he'd probably say something like: "Finally, Monday Night Raw, has come back to Roanoke!"

The Roanoke Civic Center announced on Tuesday, that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will bring its signature weekly professional wrestling show back to the Star City for the first time in 16 years.

Monday Night Raw will take place in Roanoke at May 6, 2013.  Tickets go on sale March 9th.

The card for the event includes a six-man tag-team match between John Cena, Sheamus, and Ryback vs. The Shield.

Other WWE superstars expected to appear include:

  • CM Punk
  • Randy Orton
  • Alberto del Rio
  • The Big Show
  • Kane
  • Daniel Bryan
  • Chris Jericho
  • The Miz
  • Wade Barrett
  • R-Truth


The WWE notes that the card may change, depending on the situation.

The Roanoke show comes a month after the WWE's biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania.

Ticket prices for the RAW event are: $17, $27, $37, $52, $97.  Again, the tickets go on sale on March 9th.
