Fatal accident in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY -

State police tell WSLS Sarah Harrison of Roanoke died Friday morning after crashing into several trees.

The preliminary investigation shows that the 25-year-old was driving a 2004 Ford Focus east on Route 697 when she crossed the lane, overcorrected, and then hit a number of trees.

State police say, Harrison was wearing a seatbelt, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.

Virginia State Police have confirmed a fatal accident Friday morning in Franklin County.

The accident happened on Wirtz Road at the intersection with Wilkerson Road.

The only details released so far is that it is a fatal accident.
