Floyd Co. Girls, Radford Boys headed to State Semifinals

   Floyd Co. already holds the Group A record with ten trips to the VHSL state semifinals. Friday night they made it 11 with a resounding 74-46 win over Gate City. Coach Alan Cantrell is in his 30th season at Floyd Co and will be seeking the school's 4th girls title. In Girls Division I action, Castlewood ousted Region C Champ Covington by a 52-47 count.

   In Boys action..Radford is attempting to win its third title in five seasons. They handled last year's state champ, Virginia High, 59-42 at Salem Civic Center. Coach Rick Cormany is in his 20th season at the home of the Bobcats. They advance to the state semifinals in Richmond next week.
