RALEIGH, N.C. -

The Mac and Juice Quartet won Saturday night's Last Band Standing contest, in its third year at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh. Local judges voted Mac and Juice Quartet the winner over three other bands in a competition hosted by the non-profit, "Band Together."

The winning band received a cash prize as well as an opportunity to  play with other national bands at Band Together's main event in May.

"Tonight was an honor to be among such great musicians – and be a part of something that is for such a great cause," said Brian "Juice" Raynor, of Mac and Juice Quartet. "We cannot wait to play at the Spring main event. It's a tremendous opportunity and a dream come true for our band. We intend to make the very most of it."

Before the music began, Brandon Kyle Knox, a vocalist of "The Deluge" said, "Whenever you get to do something that's going to benefit somebody else, it's always a good thing." Miles Andrews from "Big Fat Gap" said "It would be a great honor, a neat experience and it would be great to represent this amazing fundraising community they have here. This is pretty awesome." Eric William Hirsch with "The Beast" explained "We're ready to bring it. We made a set list that is sure to take the crowd."

The winning band was selected by a panel of four local judges: Chris Malarkey, of Lincoln Theatre; Taylor Travesari, Manager for Red Hat Amphitheater; Sara Waters, Coordinator for Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival; and Evan Frazer, Senior Director of Premium Seat Sales for Live Nation.

Most of the proceeds will go to TLC, otherwise known as the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities and will help buy a lot of lifesaving equipment. Sarah Crawford, Director for Development at TLC, said proceeds will help "install inline oxygen, expand early childhood education, and purchase new technology for the folks that we serve in our school."
