LYNCHBURG -
UPDATE
The four students injured in Saturday night's bus crash have been released from the hospital. Liberty University Vice President Johnnie Moore released a statement on the incident Sunday:
"Liberty University and Lynchburg Police responded to the scene of the accident immediately, and handled it all with the highest degree of care and professionalism. Our entire community is grateful that none of the 19 passengers on board sustained serious injuries. Only four passengers were sent to Lynchburg Regional, they were sent only as a precaution for further evaluation, and each was released on the same evening. The cause of the accident is still under investigation."

Four Liberty University students were taken to the hospital Saturday night with non life threatening injuries after a Liberty University bus crashed.
University officials say 19 students and the driver were on board at the time. The bus reportedly went over a curb toward the entrance of the pedestrian tunnel that goes under Route 460 - connecting to the main campus. A gas line is nearby where the bus crashed - the gas company came out to check on the situation and said it was okay.
It's not clear why the bus went off the road - the crash is still under investigation. We will keep you updated as more information comes into our newsroom.
