A Blacksburg dentist has tossed some traditional chairs for exercise balls in the office. The exercise balls used at NRV Dental are billed as "ergonomic desk chairs and exercise tools in one." They are said to promote correct posture and improve circulation while you sit.
Dr. Kimberlyn Atherton decided to use them in her office to help with medical conditions. "We saw the ball chairs online and just decided to give them a try," said Kimberlyn Atherton, DDS. "The price is pretty reasonable. She's using it, her sciatica is doing much better, my back problems are gone. We tell our patients and everybody that comes into the office."
You can find the balance ball chairs online for about $70. Some even come with a desktop exercise guide to teach you stretching and strengthening techniques while you work.
