
The brain is a complex organ that scientists at V.T.C. Research Institute are working together to understand.
Dr. Michael Friedlander, Executive Director of VTCRI says, "How do those bits of information get put together in a meaningful way that we can make sense of the world around us?"
Dr. Pearl Chiu works closely with people in the community for her brain research and explains, "We can't do our research without community particIpants."
You may have noticed this sign on the side of the VTCRI building focusing on Brain Awareness Week.
Dr. Friedlander says, "Our first premise is everybody has a brain, so we think everybody should be interested in the brain. It is probably our most the most precious resource that we all have."

Dr. Michael Fox does a lot of his brain research in a lab at VTCRI and says, "Everybody comes to the table with a different knowledge of it."
