As a result of work related to the Elmwood Park
Improvement Project, the Roanoke Public Library Main Branch will temporarily
close on March 11 until March 13.
This closure will allow work to be done on
the water connections for Elmwood Park and the Main Branch, and will prepare
those connections for future renovation.
All other Library branches will be open with
normal operating hours for citizens who wish to use library services.
Judging by the expressions and reactions of people who walked into the science and cultural mecca on Saturday, the $27 million renovation is getting good reviews

The Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitor's Bureau says hotels in our area saw a big boost in business thanks to those events. There was 90% average occupancy rate for local hotels. New numbers also show there's a total 7% increase of people filling up hotels this time last year.
