Blacksburg tech companies being recognized at SXSW

Two Blacksburg companies are being recognized on of the largest technology platforms nationwide.

The tech companies 'PAR Works' and 'HEYO' are finalists in the South By South West Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas.

The festival is one of the most prestigious platforms in the country to show off new technology.

Southwest Virginia is the only region to have two companies chosen as finalist besides the Boston area.

"It's just fantastic to have two companies Heyo and Par works to tell the story of what we're doing in this region," Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council Executive Director, Derek Maggard says.

PAR Works is a top finalist out of the 500 companies who submitted applications to SXSW.
