Local radiothon kicks off to help St. Jude

CHRISTIANSBURG -

A family dinner tonight could help children waking up in St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

107 Country PSK is kicking off its annual Country Cares for St. Jude radiothon Thursday night in Christiansburg. Caroline Cook and Scott Stevens will broadcast live tonight from Red Robin beginning at 5:00 p.m.. 10% of dinner sales, excluding alcohol, will go to St. Jude which is devoted solely to helping children with pediatric cancer and other diseases.

WPSK is part of the country music effort to support St. Jude. "That was founded by the later entertainer Danny Thomas back in 1962," Cook said. "He decided to get a lot of country music folks involved in raising money for St. Jude so all of us in the country music industry have taken it on and it's great."

You'll need to print a flyer to take to Red Robin so your meal will count, Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Country Cares for St. Jude radiothon will take place March 14 and 15.
