Several families on Meadowlark Road in Blue Ridge can finally drive out of their community.

For six weeks, the families had to climb down a hill and cross a creek just to go to work or school.

Three local companies rebuilt the road for a discounted price of $9,000.

The community raised $7,000 and is still reaching out for the rest.

Although, they've been trying to make Meadowlark Road public, it still remains to be private, which is why it's up to them to raise the money.

Here is the previous story on the companies who helped.
