New changes to Facebook News Feed

Facebook Chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg made a major announcement of plants to revamp Facebook's News Feed.

Some people will actually see the redesigned feed Thursday, but for most it's expected to show up on phones and tables over the next few weeks.

You'll now be able to customize what you see on your feed.  You can specifically choose what articles, posts, and pictures you want to read.

The upgraded feed will also feature larger photos and videos so you can organize what you see by different categories.

"Because of the history of news feed, it's easy to think of it as a single stream of content but our goal is actually a lot broader. What were trying to do is give everyone in the world, the best personalized newspaper that we can," Facebook Chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Facebook has received major backlash for previous changes, which is why company leaders decided to make the switch in phases for people to get used to the idea.

It may be six months to a year before you see the entire revamped news feed.
