BLACKSBURG, VA -

Virginia Tech is investigating the death of a male student, who's body was found in a dorm room on Thursday.

The university says a resident advisor (RA) at Newman Hall perform a well being check, after the student had not been seen for a day.  Tech says the RA found the student's body in his room.

Virginia Tech Police were called at 5:25 p.m., determined foul play was not involved, and that there was not a threat to the university community.

Virginia State Police are helping with the investigation.

Tech did not release the name of the student, and was in the process of notifying the student's family.
