The Radford boys kept the dream alive of a third state title in five years with a ragged 54-40 win over Essex on Thursday night.  Marcus Finley led the way with 16 points for a win that left head coach Rick Cormany smoldering. Coach wasn't happy with his team's effort and called them out in the post game press conference. At issue was the team's inability to make free throws to put the game away down the stretch. The Bobcats shot 15 of 31 from the line, but to be clear, Coach Cormany says he was unhappy with all phases of his team's play, and promised to "get after it" at Friday's practice. Radford advances to the Division 2 State final against Gate City on Saturday at 5pm.

Parry McCluer's bid to join Altavista in the Division I final game came up short against West Point. The Fighting Blues Coach Nelson Fox pointed to too many turnovers and a deep and talented West Point team in explaining the outcome..which goes to the Pointers--62-53.
