Floyd Co. Pressure Breaks George Mason

Floyd County's quest for a 4th girls basketball title is now one win from reality. The Lady Buffs formula of up tempo offense and constant pressure on defense finally wore down the defending state champs, George Mason.

The Division 2 state semifinal score goes in the books as 78-67. Floyd's pressure produced 33 turnovers. It was a 12-1 Floyd Co run as Mason led 50-48 early in the 4th quarter that was the difference. Floyd moves to 27-2 and never wavered in making 13 of 16 free throws down the stretch.

Carley Lytton had 23 points in the win. Floyd Co advances to take on the Region D champ, Central-Wise, in Saturday's state Division 2 Final.
