Bedford County Route 460 fight leads to two men's arrest

On Thursday, March 7th, deputies responded to 1164 East Lynchburg-Salem Turnpike (Route 460) for a fight in progress call.

Upon arrival Deputies found a man with a laceration to the face.

The subject, identified as Carson Elkins, described that an altercation had ensued between him and another subject, identified as Sherwood Blake, over Blake throwing a rock at the Elkins's vehicle.

Elkins proceeded to confront the suspect and a physical altercation ensued.

Elkins claimed he was hit by a rock and a bat, as Blake claims he was stuck with a wooden ax handle.  Both subjects were treated and released at Bedford Memorial Hospital

Deputies obtained warrants for both subjects who were taken into custody and transported to the Bedford Blue Ridge Jail Authority where they are being held without bond.

Warrants are still outstanding for a third subject, Calvin Blake.
