The Floyd County girls captured their first state title since 2008 with a 72-62 victory over Central-Wise. It's the program's 4th title, all under legendary head coach Alan Cantrell, who is in his 30th season at the school. Cantrell has also won a boys title at Floyd co.

The Division 2 final saw Amanda Hollandsworth score 26 points and grab 10 rebounds.  Christene Phillips added 19 points for the Lady Buffs who finish up 28-2. Floyd's other titles came in 1993, 1994 and 2008. The Lady Buffs constant pressure ala Arkansas of the 90's forced 26 turnovers.
