Food Lion Kitchen: Lobster!

Lobster Strudel:

  • 4 Lobster Tails (4-6 ozs ea.)
  • 1 bu. Asparagus
  • 1 container Goat's Cheese
  • 1 pack Phyllo Dough
  • 1 stick Melted Butter



  1. Split the lobster tails in half and pick the meat out of the shell.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil, add 4 tbsps salt to it.
  3. Blanch the Asparagus in the water for 30 seconds, then pull the asparagus out of the water and shock it in ice water. Cut the asparagus in half once cold.
  4. In the same pot, blanch the lobster tails for 30 seconds, then pull them out and shock them in ice water just like the asparagus.
  5. Stack several sheets of phyllo on top of each other, then butter the top sheet liberally. 
  6. Arrange the lobster tails, asparagus, and goat cheese in the pastry. Roll tightly, then bake in a 400 degree oven for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice in half. Ladle some of the Red Pepper Cream on a plate, then place the strudel pieces on top and enjoy!


Red Pepper Cream:


  • 4 Red Peppers
  • 1 qt. Heavy Cream
  • Sea Salt to taste




  1. De-stem and seed the peppers.
  2. Place the peppers in a pot with the heavy cream.
  3. Bring the cream to a simmer, season with a little sea salt, and cook until the peppers are tender.
  4. Place the pepper-cream mixture in a blender and blend till smooth. 
  5. Season to taste with sea salt.
