Gun, shell casings, DNA evidence seized in Roanoke murder investigation

Posted: Updated:

Search warrants on file in Roanoke Circuit Court show a gun, shell casings, and DNA evidence has been seized in the McArthur Jones murder investigation.

Jones, 33, died after being shot on his front porch on Rugby Road in Roanoke last Thursday night, Roanoke police said.

Tron Seaborn has been charged with the crime.

Search warrants for Seaborn's apartment claimed investigators found a gun about 50 feet from his residence.

Investigators also wrote in the search warrant they found shell casings at the murder scene they believe will match the gun.

A separate search warrant for Seaborn's person revealed investigators swabbed him for DNA.
