Martinsville region artists asked to compete in Expressions 2013

Lynwood Artists and Piedmont Arts invite local and regional artists to enter work in the annual open-entry art exhibit, Expressions 2013.

Expressions 2013 is open to artists of all levels who reside within a 100-mile radius of Martinsville, Virginia. Cash prizes will be awarded in nine categories, including Best In Show.

To enter work in Expressions 2013, artists should pick up a prospectus at Piedmont Arts, located at 215 Starling Ave., Martinsville, or download one at www.piedmontarts.org. The prospectus contains all rules and regulations for entering work in this exhibit as well as an entry form, which must be attached to all pieces entered in Expressions 2013.

Artwork Receiving for Expressions 2013 is open to all artists on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10 am – 1 pm at Piedmont Arts. Current Lynwood Artists members or artists entering work in the Student category may also drop off work at Piedmont Arts on Thursday, April 4 from 4 – 6 pm.

Expressions 2013 will be on display in the Piedmont Arts galleries April 20 through June 28, 2013.

    According to Roanoke City Police a shooting suspect is at large after one person was shot on the Roanoke River Greenway near the Ramada Inn on Franklin Road. Police say the victim has non-life threatening injuries. The call came in around 8:55.
