Myth: We only use ten percent of our brains.
As the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute kicks off Brain Awareness Week with all kinds of activities we talked to Doctor Michael Fox so he could further bust this myth.
Dr. Fox says, "That is not true. It is really unclear where that myth originates from, but we really use a lot of our brain. We are just not always aware we are using it. When you are talking to me, you are still sending signals to your legs even though you are not moving. All aspects of your brain are active if we monitor activity in a scanner we can see that."
