After witnessing an accident and stopping to help WSLS and the Red Cross honors our Good Samaritan Heroes.
Charles and Andrew Hairston, along with Travis Johnson, were driving from work in Rocky Mount last July when they saw a woman flip her car and land in a fenced in ditch.
Trooper Todd Haynes was already on the scene helping, but the driver started yelling, so the three men jumped to help.
"She started screaming my baby, my baby that's when we jumped in and I kind of got up underneath the car and pushed it on to the bank and we had to hold it there," explained Andrew.
"I guess the most important part was when we heard the baby and I guess that's what gave us our strength really to hold up the car for as long as we did," Johnson said.
They held the car out of the water, so the woman and her child wouldn't drown.
Trooper Haynes was honored as a "Law Enforcement Hero."
