Sometimes we are more worried about the fuel we put in our cars than the fuel we put in our bodies.
As part of Brain Awareness Week at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute one of Wednesday's events focused on keeping our bodies healthy in order to keep our brains healthy as we age. Diet and exercise are key to brain health as we age.
Dr. Greg Valdez, V.T.C. Research Institute Scientist explains, "Our brain depends on our body to function properly. If we have proper nutrition and proper blood flow to our brain we can remember things better, we can pay better attention, and we can control our motor skills better."
