Some would call her a miracle child, but she's alive in part thanks to the group of men and women who are now being honored as the WSLS and American Red Cross first responder heroes.

At 9 o'clock the night of April 17th, 2012 a 911 call came in for a woman in labor.

The paramedics say when they pulled up to the house, the mother actually met them on the sidewalk.

Lt. Jimmy Poindexter tried to get the mother into the ambulance to have the baby, but the delivery of little Eloise was moving fast.

"After years and multiple incidents things tend to run together, then you have the handful that stand out, and this one will stand out," said Lt. Jimmy Poindexter, Salem EMS Supervisor.

Lt. Poindexter and the crew delivered the baby right there on the sidewalk.

He says from the time of the first 911 call to the birth of little Eloise it was only about 10 minutes.
