Race fans look up to younger driver

Many Nascar fans across the country have their favorite drivers.

It could be a driver's style, their car, or maybe even a little bit of attitude.

But one younger driver in particular is emerging as a hero for NASCAR's younger audience.

When you think of NASCAR -- you think of the veterans that dominate the track.

"We came into the store and we were looking for this big race car driver -- and here's this kid sitting over in the corner signing autographs," said Cindy Poole.

Needless to say -- Cindy Poole and her two boys were taken aback by now 15 year old Gray Gaulding.

"It was just really surprising to see him doing what he was doing,' said Poole

And Gray soon became a family favorite --

"You probably would expect a kid to drive a race car when he would be 14 or 15 years old," said David Poole, an avid fan of Gray.

While his brother Michael -- admires Gray for what he "isn't".

"He didn't act like a jerk like other race car drivers he was a good role model," said Michael

So what does gray have to say about being one of NASCAR's youngest role models?

"It's a cool feeling that people actually do look up to me and knowing that I'm only 15 -- just turned 15," said Gray.

But he says he doesn't let it go to his head.

"To sign a young kid's autograph because at one point I was at that stage where I was looking up to the Kevin Harvicks," said Gray

"I think he's a great role model for kids -- especially at his age and he's doing what he's doing," said Cindy Poole

And at that age it inspires younger generation.
