DAYTONA BEACH, FL -

The Daytona Beach Police department reports that its chief was injured while making an arrest during Bike Week on Saturday.  Police say Michael Dangelo of Daytona Beach made a threatening remark to Chitwood while the two passed each other on the street.  Dangelo then spit on Chitwood as he walked away.  The two got into a struggle and fell to the ground.  That's when police say Dangelo bit Chitwood in the hand as the chief tried to arrest him.

Chitwood, sustained a broken right hand and finger, deep cuts to his finger and a gash on his forehead.  The arrest report indicated that Dangelo faces two felony counts and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
