Local pool sharks helped raise money for a good cause on this Saint Patrick's Day.
The New River Chapter of the American Pool Players Association held its second annual pool tournament at Corned Beef and Company in downtown Roanoke.
Money raised benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association. 42 players entered and were eligible to win prizes.
"There's some pretty substantial prizes that you can win in my league, but this is being a charity event, it's really people coming out because they love pool and they want to do something nice for people," said Andy Skerritt, the event organizer.
The group raised around $1200 dollars last year and expected to raise even more this year.
