Friendship Retirement Community expanding - WSLS 10 NBC in Roanoke/Lynchburg Va

Friendship Retirement Community is expanding to provide more living spaces and additional care for seniors.
Leaders with Friendship, that is located off of Hershberger Road, said there has been a growing need to expand. They are currently working on a new building on campus that will add 35 units for independent living. It will be finished in about a year.
The Virginia Health Commissioner also signed off on a project to build a rehab center off of Starkey Road. The facility will include 120 rooms. Leaders said it will take some time to finish, but they expect the 60,000 square facility to be complete in 2015.
