Few women's teams in lower rung conferences have ever dominated their league like Liberty. The Lady Flames have won the Big South Conference tournament - and its automatic NCAA tournament berth - 15 times in the last 17 years.

But coach Carey Green's team has only managed to get past the first round once, in 2005.

This year's team thinks it can do it again.

Liberty (27-6) carries a 14-game winning streak into its first round game against Purdue (24-8). Like the 2005 team, these Lady Flames also feature five seniors prominently, and they lead the nation in rebounding.

In Liberty's last two tournament appearances, the Lady Flames lost 83-77 to Kentucky in Louisville in 2010 and were routed last year 74-43 at Notre Dame.
