One Stop Auto: When Should I Check My Brakes?

One Stop Auto Service was voted #1 by you, the viewers of Daytime Blue Ridge. One Stop Auto so appreciates this award, they've decided to give something back. So every Thursday, One Stop will provide a helpful car tip to help keep your car safe and in top shape.
Don't forget your brakes. Check your brake pad wear with every oil change. If you're traveling down a long mountain road, your brakes are going to heat up. If the brakes get very hot, they may start to smoke and emit a strong chemical smell. If that happens, pull over in a safe spot and give the brakes time to cool down. On long, steep down hills, try a lower gear before traveling downhill, causing the car to go slower without the need for constant braking.
If you haven't had your brakes checked in awhile, One Stop will be glad to check them, and fix them if needed. One Stop has top quality pads, parts, and service at the best price!
Of course One Stop's award winning service will keep you motoring. One Stop Auto is located on Orange Avenue, 460, near the Gus Nicks intersection. Call 904.7505 or visit RoanokeTireandAuto.com.
