But it is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' shortest track … Martinsville Speedway … that is a sentimental favorite for Earnhardt.Part of that sentiment stems from Earnhardt's love for the roots of racing, and no track has deeper roots in NASCAR than Martinsville Speedway.        Hendrick Motorsports was at Martinsville Speedway Tuesday---testing for the upcoming race in the chase.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rolled into Fontana California last week, and boy did it ever have an impact.  ON the last lap Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin were battling for the lead and as we all know there is no love lost between those two. They get together and that allows Kyle Busch to get by--he goes on to win the race.

But Denny is the loser in all of it. He hits the inside wall and his car goes airborne. He was airlifted to a local medical center for treatment.

Joey Logano's trouble didn't end there either. Tony Stewart was fuming over a block on the restart--he took few swings at the young gun, and has this to say after the scuffle on pit road.

"What angered you at the end of the race...what did you take issue with?....."(Stewart:) What the hell did you think I was mad about?....Dumb little (bleep) runs us clear down to the infield...he want to (Bleep) about everybody else, he's the one that drives like a little (bleep). I'm gonna bust his (bleep). Thanks Tony---Thank you! "

Here is a look at how the rest of the field stacked up. Dale Jr. comes home 2nd, he has finished in the top ten every race this year. He also is your points leader. Joey Logano crosses the line 3rd after the crash. Kurt Busch has a good run in 5th, and Ryan Newman rounds out the top ten. next week the series takes a week off for Easter, but then after the tempers will be sure to flare at the paperclip--when NASCAR makes a stop in our back yard at Martinsville Speedway.
