ROANOKE -

A national project brought a famous face to Roanoke this afternoon.

Actor Bill Pullman is among the people who are participating in the Healing Wars project that uses dance and performance to examine how war affects medicine and soldiers.

Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech brought Liz Lerman and her performers to our area and Pullman was one of several visiting the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute this afternoon.

Many of you know Pullman from his roles in Independence Day, While You Were Sleeping and NBC's 1600 Penn.

This is the release that went out on the visit: http://www.vtnews.vt.edu/articles/2013/03/031413-cfa-lerman.html and here's more information about the project they're working on: http://lizlerman.com/.
