Two years ago Scott Aylor helped his wife open the Willow Pod in the Daleville Town Center in Botetourt County.
Ever since he's been waiting patiently for more businesses to join him in the largely empty town center.
"People have been asking and asking when is stuff coming up in this area, every time someone walks in the door they're asking when is stuff coming," Aylor said. "Now we can really give them some definite groups of folks that are coming in so we're really excited."
On Wednesday, the owners of Sharkey's in Blacksburg and Radford announced they will open a new restaurant this summer called The Town Center Tap House.
They hope to open in July.
Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Shop is also planning to open its doors in June.
"We've worked very hard to create an opportunity for businesses within Daleville Town Center," said Steve Claytor, a Vice President of Development with Fralin & Waldrin.
He has spent nearly five years working to fill the town center, which proved to be an up hill climb.
Now with an apartment complex set to be complete this fall complementing the new businesses, Claytor sees a bright future.
"We're creating a very, very unique opportunity with the Daleville Town Center," Claytor said. "Quite frankly you would be hard pressed to find anything quite like it in Southwest Virginia."
He expects hosting popular events at its concert shell like Party in the Park will help draw more people to the growing town center.
